The organist was Miss Sallie Reade and while the friends of young couple were assembling she played several selections, and just before the wedding party en tered Mrs. j. A. Long, Jr., sang "For Love's Sweet Sake." The ushers, Messrs. C. W. Long, M. R. Long. D. W. Ledbet terandR. I. Featherstone, Jr., entered by the side aisles while the bridesmaids entered by the center aisle in pairs. The first were Misses Mabel Harris and Bettie Reade of Durham, who wore white crepe de chine over blue, and carried white roses; the next were Misses Mary Harris and Elma Featherstone who wore white crepe de chine over pink and carried pink roses, all of the bridesmaids wearing the brides maids veils. Next came in tne matron of honor, Mrs. E. E. Bradsher, sister of the bride. She wore pink crep de chine and car ried pink roses. Last Tuesday afternoon Mrs. AS. deVlaming entertained in her usual cordial manner the Pleasure Club. The games were spirited and lively from sttrt to finish. When the scores were counted it was found that Mrs. R. J. Teague had won the club prize and Mrs. B. R. Long the visitors. At the close of the games an elegant two course lurch was served. C. w'renn, 60,. 000 Miss Sadie Barrett. 40r 000 and Miss Ellen Coxe, 20,000 All of these votes have been vot ed in this week's standing to the credit of these candidates. Get your business in early. And now get that last subscriber, work hard, and DO IT NOW! Erwin Mooney Shot On last Saturday a most distres sing accident occurred just about five miles south of town. J, A. Lea. Erwin Mooney and seveial other neighbor boys formed a party for a days hunt, and soon after starting Lea's gun was aci dentally discharged, the entire load striking,Mooney in the face, killing him instantly. Erwin Mooney was about 19 years old, and was a student in the Roxboro Graded school, a splendid student and a fine young man. Prof, Stalvey speaking of him in the most complimentary terms in the chapel Monday morning. The burial took place on Sunday evening, toe large in which he was held by his neigh bors and friends. There is deep sympathy for his family, as well as for young Lea, who is deeply grieved over the unfortunate affair. o Allensville Porkers.
